TRIP DETAILS

09:30 am departure from the port of Lipari Marina Corta to carry out the tour of Alicudi and Filicudi (show up for boarding at least 30 minutes before departure).

The tour will begin by skirting the Faraglioni of Lipari until you reach the Grotta del Bue Marino which is located on the north-western side of the Island of Filicudi. This is the largest cave in the Aeolian Islands and its name derives from the monk seals that lived there in the past.
During the navigation we will also meet the suggestive Montenassari, Giafante and Canna Faraglioni, which have now become an unmistakable sign of this island. Specifically, La Canna is a volcanic neck 85 meters high and is surrounded by transparent waters full of colorful fish.

Arriving at the Port of Filicudi, a stop of about two hours will be made for an independent visit of the island. The port area is the nerve center of the island, where small businesses can be found.
While staying on the island, we recommend a visit to the prehistoric village of Capo Graziano, whose finds testify to the presence on the island, during the Neolithic, of a thriving obsidian industry and processing and of the ancient quarries of Macine, where they find some remains of millstones.
On the island there is also the seat of the Aeolian Archaeological Museum of Lipari, in Porto, where you can find the artifacts found in the excavations of the Neolithic village of Capo Graziano and the findings made on the wrecks surrounding the island.

In the early afternoon we will leave for Alicudi, the westernmost island of the entire archipelago, which has remained untouched by mass tourism, where a stop of about 2 hours will be made.
In Alicudi it will be possible to enjoy the wild nature and the tranquility that distinguish it.
We recommend a visit to San Bartolo, which is found going up from the port to a height of about 330 meters, where there is the church dedicated to San Bartolo, patron saint of the Aeolian Islands and of Contrada Tonna, composed of a small agglomeration of rural houses , which represent the authentic Aeolian architecture, with steps built with dry stone walls, and the ancient aedicules of the Via Crucis that testify to the devotion of the islanders.
The return to the port of Lipari Marina Corta is expected around 18.00.
