La “Ciaspolata” è un trekking invernale nella neve tramite l’ausilio delle Ciaspole.

Questo trekking è perfetto per passare una giornata in coppia, famiglia o con gli amici.
Faremo un trekking nella neve sul bellissimo Altopiano del Quarto di Santa Chiara, situato a circa 1250 mt. di altitudine.
Nei fine settimana potremo inoltre assistere prima della partenza dell’attività, all’arrivo del treno storico della ormai famosa “Transiberiana d’Italia”.

L’Altopiano del Quarto di Santa Chiara è uno degli “Altopiani Maggiori d’Abruzzo”, un vasto sistema di altopiani carsici collegati tra loro e compresi tra i 1200 e i 1500 mt di altitudine. Prende il nome da un’evento legato alla storia medievale del paese di Palena e si trova tra i territori dei comuni di Palena, Pescocostanzo e Campo di Giove, ad un’altitudine di circa 1250 mt. s.l.m. This trekking is perfect for spending a day with your partner, family or friends.
We will do a trekking in the snow on the beautiful Altopiano del Quarto di Santa Chiara, located at about 1250 mt. altitude.
On weekends we can also attend before the start of the activity, the arrival of the historic train of the now famous "Transiberiana d'Italia".

The Altopiano del Quarto di Santa Chiara is one of the "Major Highlands of Abruzzo", a vast system of connected karstic plateaus between 1200 and 1500 meters above sea level. It is named after an event linked to the medieval history of the town of Palena and is located between the territories of the municipalities of Palena, Pescocostanzo and Campo di Giove, at an altitude of about 1250 meters. s.l.m. Completely uninhabited and vegetation stripped in winter, low temperatures are often recorded almost as record for the Apennines

TRIP DETAILS

The snowshoe ride starts from the town of Palena, from the parking lot of the Palena Station.

Before starting the activity, the guide will hand us the equipment (snowshoes and trekking sticks), help us to wear it and explain how to use it best.

We will head as a first stop to the Gully of Quarto di Santa Chiara to discover everything you need to know about this fantastic UNESCO geo-heritage site.

We will continue our activity until a small refuge in the plain, destination of our excursion.
